State/Local Government Partnerships Program
Partnership Stories Worth Telling
The partners
South Australian Government (through the Office of Local Government)
Local Government Association of South Australia
The project
This project involved the documentation of some of the partnership arrangements that have been put in place or are currently under development between state and local governments in South Australia. The result is a book Partnership Stories Worth Telling.
The role of the book was to profile the many positive examples of collaborative approaches, and to:
- promote joint activity
- explore and document different approaches to building stronger relationships between the spheres of government
- acknowledge some of the lessons learnt
- highlight the range of benefits that were already or were beginning to be achieved.
Our role
In association with Kate Barnett & Associates we researched and documented partnership experiences and developed the 'stories' content in a consistent format for the hard copy booklet.
'Ian's experience in a range of local government reform matters, ability to guide and participate in varying communication processes and achievements of milestones shone throughout our innovative project. It progressed in a spirit of collaborative effort, a delightful partnership model in itself'.
