Natural Resources Management
Visioning Workshops
Proponent
Natural Resources Council of South Australia supported by the Department of Water Land and Biodiversity.
The project
As part of the development of the State Natural Resources Management (NRM) Plan several visioning workshops were conducted to develop a possible vision for the State looking some 50+ years into the future.
Two workshops were conducted, with the first being attended by managers within the Department of Water Land and Biodiversity and a second workshop with participants from the State Natural Resources Council and Sustainability Roundtable. The purpose of these workshops was to develop a draft vision that could be used for broader consultation in finalising a State NRM Plan.
The outcomes from these workshops have now been developed and included in a consultation document entitled, Towards South Australia's State Natural Resources Management Plan 2005-2010.
Once a State NRM Plan is adopted by the State Government, the strategic direction for natural resources management for the next five years will be in place.
Our role
We worked with the members of the Natural Resources Council and the Department of Water Land and Biodiversity in developing a workshop process and then facilitating the workshops.
