DPS scores license for international Global Partnership program
Dixon Partnership Solutions has been awarded the license to conduct the Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme, an international partnership training program, for the South East Asian and Australasia Regions
The Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme (PBAS) was developed by the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) and the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in recognition of the complexity, and the need for a high degree of professionalism and integrity, in brokering multi sector partnerships. PBAS aims to equip those people involved as brokers in complex multi sector partnerships with the necessary skills, knowledge and tools to achieve successful outcomes.

This is the first license awarded by IBLF and ODI to conduct this scheme and reinforces DPS as the leading partnership brokering organization in this region. Licensing of this program to DPS will expand the reach of the course and enable easier access for people wishing to acquire skills in this new and developing discipline, which will be so critical for future sustainable development in this region.
The Scheme is intended for internal partnership brokers responsible for negotiating or managing partnerships within organizations as well as third party external partnership brokers.
The Scheme is separated into 3 distinct elements, namely:
- Level 1 - Residential Skills Training Program - an intensive 5 day program which explores the theory and practice of the partnering process and the role of the partnership broker
- Level 2 - Professional Practice: accreditation - on invitation, participants who have completed Level 1 undertake a 3 month action learning project with mentoring. Participants keep a record of their partnership brokering activities in the form of a logbook, alongside a final essay on their personal brokering journey
- Level 3 - Professional Practice: advanced - Candidates with a distinction at Level 2 are eligible for Level 3. This Level involves candidates completing a practice based dissertation exploring innovation in or a critique of partnership brokering as a discipline
As part of the licensing arrangement DPS will conduct the Level 1 residential skills component for the South East Asian and Australasia Region. It is proposed to conduct a minimum of one program in this region every year; however, additional programs may be scheduled depending on demand. The professional practice components and accreditation processes will be managed by IBLF to maintain consistency globally.
The next program in this region will be conducted from the 3-8 May 2009 at Mandurah, South of Perth in Western Australia and further details including application forms are now available.
